Tokaj – Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén Destination Tokaj and Zemplén about 57 km from Miskolc

How to get there

  • Tokaj vasútállomás 2 km

Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

Confirm before purchasing. Trains connect Budapest to Tokaj, depending on service and connections. From the station, proceed to the centre on foot, by local bus or by taxi.

How many days

Two days allow time for the museums and a landscape outing. For Sárospatak, add an extra day or another night to the regional itinerary.

When to go

May to October is usually the most favourable period for the slopes. September and October can coincide with the harvest, depending on the vintage. Between December and February, cold and short days typically reduce the time available to explore the slopes.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

The central museums can be combined on foot. For vineyards and other localities, bus, a booked tour or a car require defining the route in advance.
