Gyula – Békés
How to get there
-
Gyula vasútállomás 2 km
Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.
Confirm before purchasing. From Budapest, check train or bus options to Gyula; some rail services require a change in Békéscsaba. The final stretch to the park can be done by local transport.
How many days
Two days: one for the castle and palace, another for the baths and breaks in town.
When to go
April to June and September to October are usually mild for the park. June to August can be hot and increase use of the outdoor bath areas. Winter, from December to February, tends to be cold with short days.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
The three central programs combine on foot after arrival. A car helps for regional departures, but is not necessary to move between the castle, palace and baths.
