Confirm before purchasing. Trains link Győr to Budapest and the Vienna axis. The station is close to the central area, with a walk or bus to the old core.

One day covers the religious hill and the centre. A second is devoted to Pannonhalma, including the transport to the abbey.

When to go

April to June and September to October are usually mild for the centre and riverbanks. Summer can be hot, and winter from December to February is typically cold with few daylight hours.

Do you need a car?

The centre is walkable and arrival is well served by train. For Pannonhalma, use a bus or arrange the final leg from the local station.
