Salzburgo
Salzburg is organized between the Salzach river and the hills. Hohensalzburg fortress dominates the baroque centre, where the cathedral and Mozart’s birthplace are located. Mirabell is on the opposite bank; Hellbrunn allows a separate stroll through the gardens and water features.

Bad Gastein
Bad Gastein is spread over slopes around the Gasteiner Wasserfall. The waterfall runs through the centre, while the railway station provides access to the Stubnerkogel. The visit combines urban walks with a panoramic ascent, in a valley distinct from Zell am See's lake.

Kaprun
Kaprun lies in the valley south of Zell am See, with access to the Kitzsteinhorn and the Sigmund-Thun-Klamm gorge. The village allows you to split a day at altitude from a walk near the water. Mountain services require checking the season, the circuit and the schedule.

Werfen
Werfen lies in the Salzach valley, south of Salzburg. Hohenwerfen Castle dominates a rise above the town; the Eisriesenwelt requires ascending the mountain via a combination of access routes. Each attraction merits its own time, with different paces and demands.

Zell am See
Zell am See has its town center beside the Zeller See and access to the Schmittenhöhe. The town serves as a base for the Grossglockner road and for the Krimml waterfalls on separate outings. The train station near the lakeshore makes arrival and the start of excursions easy.
