Miskolc – Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén Capital
How to get there
-
Miskolc-Tiszai pályaudvar 3 km
Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.
Confirm before booking. Trains from Budapest arrive at Miskolc-Tiszai. Trams and buses complete urban journeys to Lillafüred and Miskolctapolca; Aggtelek requires regional transport.
How many days
Three days: one for Lillafüred, one for the baths and urban transfers, another for the Aggtelek cave.
When to go
May to October is usually suitable for the wooded valleys. The mountains tend to be colder than the plains; from December to February days are short, while summer usually has more daylight and occasional rain.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
Urban transport serves the neighborhoods visited. A car makes the trip to Aggtelek easier, but check regional buses if you prefer not to drive.
