Confirm before buying. Trains and buses connect Keszthely to Budapest and to other Balaton towns. The station faces the lake, below the town center and the palace.
How many days
Two days allow time for the palace, the museum and breaks by the lake. With an extra day, arrange a thermal visit in the neighboring town.
When to go
April to June and September to October usually combine walks and indoor visits. July and August are warmer. Winter, from December to February, is generally cold, with shorter outdoor outings.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
The town center is walked on foot. Buses serve regional travel; a car is more useful to link several small stops in one day.
