Hévíz – Zala Destination Lake Balaton

How to get there

  • Hévíz autóbusz-állomás 1 km

Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

Confirm before booking. From Budapest, take a bus or train to Keszthely and complete the road segment to Hévíz. Confirm connections before choosing where to overnight.

How many days

Half a day for the lake; one or two nights give more time for breaks and to combine the visit with Keszthely.

When to go

From May to September the air is usually milder or warm for outdoor bathing. Winter, from December to February, tends to be cold with short days, despite the thermal origin of the water.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Regional buses make it possible to arrive without a car. The lake is close to the central area and does not require driving between each stage of the bathing experience.
