When to go

June to August usually concentrates the lake summer, with long days. April, May, September and October can be mild for walking. Winter is cold with little daylight and less boating available.

Do you need a car?

Train and bus cover the main axis. For points distant from the shore, a car requires fewer connections, but it is not necessary for the central walking area.
