About Egri minaret
The Egri minaret appears among low buildings near Eger’s historic core. The tower preserves an architectural reference from the Ottoman period. Its slender form contrasts with the mass of the castle walls and the basilica’s columned façade.
The monument can be observed from the outside, where you can perceive its height and the balcony’s outline. When available, the climb takes place inside the tower via a narrow stair. The experience is very different from that of a lookout with wide access or an elevator.
Before deciding to climb, check route conditions and assess your comfort in tight spaces. Walking around the exterior already allows you to recognize the structure. Being in the center, the minaret fits into a walk through the old streets without requiring regional transport.
