Bergen
Bergen is Norway's second city and the seat of Vestland county, on the west coast, between seven hills and the sea. A former Hanseatic port, it has the Bryggen quay, a World Heritage site, the fish market, Bergenhus fortress, the Fløyen funicular and the Ulriken cable car. It is the most used base for fjord tours and the departure point for the Hurtigruten.

Eidfjord
Eidfjord is the village at the end of the innermost branch of the Hardangerfjord, at the foot of the Hardangervidda plateau. From there road 7 climbs the Måbødalen valley to the Vøringsfossen waterfall and the national park center. The Hardanger Bridge, 15 km away, connects the village to Bergen.

Flåm
Flåm is a village at the head of the Aurlandsfjord, an arm of the Sognefjord, where the Flåmsbana ends after descending from Myrdal through the mountains. Boats depart from the quay for the Nærøyfjord, a World Heritage site. Flåm is the base for the Stegastein viewpoint, the Aurlandsfjellet road and the medieval wooden churches of Borgund and Urnes.

Loen
Loen is the village at the end of the Innvikfjord, an arm of the Nordfjord, from which the Loen Skylift rises up to Mount Hoven. The Lodalen valley leads along the lake Lovatnet to the Kjenndalsbreen glacier, and the Jostedalsbreen National Park centre is in Oppstryn, 25 km away.

Odda
Odda is the industrial town at the end of the Sørfjord, an arm of the Hardangerfjord, surrounded by mountains and the Folgefonna glacier. It is the base for the Trolltunga hike, the Buarbreen glacier, the Låtefossen waterfall and the Tyssedal hydroelectric museum, and is about half an hour from the orchards of Lofthus.

Olden
Olden is the village at the mouth of the Oldedalen valley, in the Nordfjord, with a cruise ship quay and the old wooden church from 1759. The valley rises along Lake Oldevatnet to Briksdal and the Briksdalsbreen glacier tongue, one of the most visited tongues of the Jostedalsbreen.
