About Dynjandi

Dynjandi occupies a slope at the head of a branch of Arnarfjörður. The main fall widens as it descends, forming a sheet of water over the rock. Below it, other cascades follow the route and complete the reading of the slope.

The trail starts at the arrival area and climbs past viewing points. The visit is not a single viewpoint: each level shows a different relationship between water, terrain, and fjord. The amount of spray and the visibility of the rocks depend on the day's conditions.

The waterfall can be included in a West Fjords road circuit. Allow time for the ascent and return, in addition to the road transfer. Walking without haste lets you observe the smaller falls before reaching the closest perspective of the main ensemble.
