About Stari grad Rovinj
The Stari grad of Rovinj occupies a peninsula of narrow streets rising from the harbor up to the church of Santa Eufemia. The façades come close to the water and the houses follow the terrain. The walk makes it possible to perceive how the urban core adapted to a small space by the sea.
The stone paths lead to passages, stairways and small openings to the coast. At the top, the church and its bell tower help orient the route. The religious building is part of the reading of the ensemble, while the waterfront allows you to see the neighbourhood's silhouette from another angle.
Use part of the walk to ascend and part to skirt the core by the water. Appropriate footwear helps on the uneven pavement and ramps. Between June and August the streets tend to receive more visitors; April, May, September and October allow you to spread walks in generally milder temperatures.
