About Park šuma Marjan
Park šuma Marjan occupies a high peninsula west of Split’s centre. The wooded area contrasts with the dense streets of the palace and allows views of the city and the sea from a different relief. The outing can be a short climb to a viewpoint or a longer walk along the park’s paths.
The routes cross stretches of woodland and open areas along the coast. Small religious buildings appear along parts of the route, but the main reason to visit is the peninsula’s landscape. It is not necessary to reach every high point to relate Marjan to the harbour and the urban core.
Plan your route according to the time and effort you want. Between May and September days are usually long; July and August can be hot on the climbs. Take water and plan to return to the centre before venturing onto paths farther from urban access.
