How many days
Two days for the squares, the castle, Västra Hamnen and Ribersborg, with half a day for Lund. A third day lets you cross the bridge and visit Copenhagen.
When to go
From May to September days are usually long and mild, with swimming at Ribersborg in July and August. Winter in the south is generally milder than in the rest of Sweden, with little snow, but it is wet, windy and dark.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
No. The centre is walkable, and city buses and bicycles take you to Västra Hamnen and Ribersborg. Trains link Malmö with Lund and Copenhagen. A car is useful for castles, villages and the inland beaches of Escânia.
