How many days
One day for the mine and the museum. One and a half days to include Carl Larsson's house in Sundborn. With more time, continue to Lake Siljan and Mora.
When to go
From June to August days are usually long and there are frequent visits to the mine and Carl Larsson's house. Winter typically brings snow and severe cold, with skiing at Lugnet, but days are short and opening hours reduced.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
For Falun, no: the mine, the museum and the centre can be done on foot or by local bus. For Sundborn and Lake Siljan, a car is helpful; there are regional buses with limited departures.
