Uusimaa Capital

Helsinque

Capital of Finland and of Uusimaa, Helsinki brings together the Lutheran cathedral and Uspenski, the Temppeliaukio church and the Suomenlinna fortress. Ateneum and Kiasma bring visitors closer to art; Oodi presents the library as a communal space. Seurasaari and Aalto’s buildings expand the itinerary beyond the center.

Porvoo

Porvoo, also called Borgå in Swedish, has an old town that links the river warehouses to the medieval cathedral. Vanha Porvoo concentrates cobbled streets and wooden houses; the Porvoo Museum occupies the old town hall. The Runeberg House is located in another part of the center and allows visits to 19th-century interiors.
