Hillerød
Hillerød is the seat of the Capital Region, inland in the north of Zealand, 40 minutes by train from Copenhagen. The town grew up around the Castelo de Frederiksborg, the palace of Cristiano IV on a lake, with the Museu de História Nacional and the Baroque garden. Ten km away is the Palácio de Fredensborg, the royal family's residence, with an open park.

Copenhague
Copenhague is the capital of Denmark, on the east coast of Zealand, facing Sweden. The old center is explored on foot and by bicycle: Strøget, Nyhavn, the palaces of Rosenborg, Amalienborg and Christiansborg, the Round Tower and the canals of Christianshavn. It has museums of art, history and design, the Tivoli in the center and fast trains to Helsingør, Hillerød, Roskilde and the Louisiana.

Gudhjem
Gudhjem is the fishing village on Bornholm's northeast coast, with steep streets descending to the harbour and herring smokehouses. It is the departure point for the boat to Christiansø and is close to the round church of Østerlars, the cliffs of Helligdomsklipperne, with the Bornholm Art Museum, and Svaneke.

Helsingør
Helsingør sits at the northern tip of the Øresund, 4 km from Sweden and 45 minutes by train from Copenhagen. The town prospered from the shipping toll and preserves the Castelo de Kronborg, associated with Hamlet; the maritime museum inside a dry dock; and a center of old houses with the medieval Carmelite convent. Ferries cross to Helsingborg in 20 minutes.

Rønne
Rønne is the capital of Bornholm, on the island's west coast, where ferries and flights from Copenhagen arrive. The centre has streets of low, colorful houses, the square Store Torv, the church of São Nicolau by the sea and the Bornholms Museum. It is the base for the ruins of Hammershus to the north and the beach of Dueodde to the south.
