Svendborg – Dinamarca do Sul Destination Odense and Funen

How to get there

  • Aeroporto de Copenhague (Københavns Lufthavn, Kastrup) (CPH) Kastrup · 210 km
  • Estação de Svendborg (Svendborg Station) 1 km
  • Terminal de ferries de Svendborg (Ærøfærgerne) 1 km

Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

Check before you buy. From Odense, the local train takes about 1 hour, passing Kværndrup, the Egeskov stop. By car it's about 45 km on road 9. Ferries to Ærø depart from the terminal next to the station.

How many days

One day for the harbour, Troense and Castelo de Valdemar; two days if you include the ferry to Ærøskøbing, or add an extra night on the island.

When to go

From May to September, with excursion boats on the strait, more ferry departures and blooming villages. In winter it's cold and windy, ferries run less often and several museums close.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

No. Trains from Odense, buses and summer boats reach Tåsinge and Troense, and the ferry takes you to Ærø, which is explored by bicycle. A car is useful for Langeland and the country manors.
