About Andenes fyr
Andenes lighthouse is a cast-iron tower painted red beside the village harbour, at the northern tip of Andøya. The structure helps identify the coastline profile and reflects the area's connection to navigation and fishing.
Visits inside and the climb are organized by the local museum and follow their own schedule. The staircase requires a different effort than a flat walk along the harbour. Even for those who only view the exterior, the tower relates to the breakwaters, the boats and the expanse of sea.
Combine the visit with a walk around the harbour area. Andenes is also a base for whale-watching activities, which must be booked separately and usually depend on sea conditions. The lighthouse is not the boarding point for all of those tours.
