When to go

From May to September, with the smokehouses and boats to Christiansø operating daily. In winter the village is quiet and many places close.

Do you need a car?

No. Buses connect Gudhjem with Rønne, Østerlars, Helligdomsklipperne and Svaneke, and there are coastal trails and cycle paths. The village streets are steep and narrow: leave the car uphill.
