How many days

Half a day for the plaza and the viewpoint; a full day for a nearby coffee farm. Many people stay in Filandia and visit Salento and Cocora on a day trip.

When to go

The climate is cool, with mild days and cold nights. It rains more, generally, between April and May and between October and November. At the viewpoint, a rain-free late afternoon usually brings low light across the mountains.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

No. The center and the viewpoint can be done on foot. For Salento and Cocora, take buses, vans or a taxi; for more distant farms, a jeep or car is useful.
