About Cayo Punta Brava

Punta Brava is the nearest cay to Tucacas and the only one in Parque Nacional Morrocoy reachable by car, via a bridge that leaves the town. A road crosses the cay through mangroves to the beaches, which have light sand and calm, shallow water.

Because it is easy to reach, Punta Brava is the most popular cay with families, especially on weekends. The beaches usually have stalls, umbrellas and food vendors.

Boats also depart from the cay to other points in the park, and the mangrove route is good for spotting water birds.

Access is subject to the park's opening hours; check in advance. In the late afternoon, the west-facing beach often has the sunset over the mangroves.
