How many days
One day for the boat and the viewpoints. With one overnight there's time for the Skageflå hike or for Trollstigen. Many visitors stay two nights in summer.
When to go
From June to September, when the mountain roads and the ferry are usually operating. The waterfalls typically have more water in May and June. In winter, the village has few services and access is restricted on some roads.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
A car is very helpful for the viewpoints and Trollstigen. Without one, there are excursion buses in season to Dalsnibba and the Fjord Route, in addition to the boats.
