Manarola
Manarola is one of the most photographed villages of the Cinque Terre: colorful tower-houses perched on a dark rock, with a small harbor where boats are kept on the street. The Punta Bonfiglio viewpoint looks straight at the village. Above, the trail to Volastra climbs through the vineyards, and neighboring Corniglia is one train stop away.

Monterosso al Mare
Monterosso al Mare is the westernmost and most populous village of the Cinque Terre. It has two parts: Fegina, with the station and the longest beach in the region, where the statue of the Gigante stands, and the old town, with the Gothic church of San Giovanni Battista. Between them, on the hill, is the Convento dei Cappuccini.

Riomaggiore
Riomaggiore is the easternmost village of the Cinque Terre and the first train stop leaving La Spezia. The colorful houses descend a narrow valley to the marina, and on the hilltop stands the Castello di Riomaggiore. It is the starting point of the Via dell'Amore to Manarola, and in season boats run from here to Portovenere.

Vernazza
Vernazza is the second village of the Cinque Terre when coming from Monterosso. It has a small harbor, a cove with colorful houses around the Piazza Marconi. Perched on the rock is the Castello Doria, and on the water's edge the church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia, with its octagonal tower.
