About Parque Histórico Guayaquil
The Parque Histórico Guayaquil is located in Samborondón, across the Daule River, about 10 km from the center. It covers 8 hectares divided into three areas: wildlife, traditions, and urban-architectural.
In the wildlife area, trails and boardwalks run through mangrove and forest, with animals of the Ecuadorian coast such as birds, monkeys, turtles and other regional species in enclosures.
The traditions area shows coastal country life, with a hacienda house, plantations and the history of cacao, which brought wealth to Guayaquil. The urban-architectural area gathers old wooden houses from the city, from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, that were dismantled from their original locations and rebuilt in the park by the river.
The visit helps to understand what Guayaquil was like before the concrete buildings, and is a good option for families with children.
