How many days
Half a day for the Castelo de Frederiksborg and the Baroque garden; a full day if you include the park at Fredensborg. Many people combine it with Helsingør on the same day.
When to go
From May to September, when the cascades in the Baroque garden are operating and the parks are green. In July the Palácio de Fredensborg usually opens for guided tours. In winter the gardens lack flowers and opening hours are reduced.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
No. The station is a 15-minute walk from the castle, and Fredensborg is one station away by train. A car is useful for visiting the Gribskov forests and Lake Esrum.
