About Cayo Muerto

Cayo Muerto, also called Cayo Los Muertos, is the caye closest to Chichiriviche, about five minutes by speedboat from the orla. It is just over six hectares, with many palm trees, white sand and calm, shallow water.

Because it is so close, it is the option for those with little time or traveling with children. The caye often has stalls, vendors selling oysters, food and handicrafts.

Next to it is the smaller Cayo Peraza, which can be combined in the same trip.

From the caye you can see the orla of Chichiriviche and, in the background, Cerro Chichiriviche, the higher part of the park. The return is quick, which allows going back and forth more than once in the same day.

Do not confuse it with the Cayo Muerto of Los Roques, another archipelago in Venezuela.
