About Lego House
The Lego House, the "house of the brick", opened on 28 September 2017 in central Billund. The building, designed by the Danish firm BIG, of Bjarke Ingels, looks like 21 giant white blocks stacked, with the 2x4 block on top. Around it sits a 2,000-square-meter public plaza, and the brightly colored roof terraces are open to the public.
Inside, the visit is divided into color zones: the red, creativity zone, with mountains of bricks for free building; the blue, reasoning zone, with engineering and robotics challenges; the green, social zone, with characters and scenes to invent stories; and the yellow, emotions zone, with fish and creatures that come to life in a digital aquarium. In the center, the Tree of Creativity, more than 15 meters tall, was assembled from about 6.3 million pieces.
On the masterpieces floor there are three dinosaurs built by fans, and in the basement the History of Lego tells the company's story from Ole Kirk Christiansen's wooden toy workshop in 1932, with models and boxes from all eras. The Mini Chef restaurant serves meals via robots assembled from bricks.
