About Parque del Café

Parque del Café is located in Montenegro, Quindío, on a valley slope. It was inaugurated in 1995 by the National Federation of Coffee Growers to show the history and culture of Colombian coffee, and today it is also an amusement park. The entrance is at the top, next to the Museu Interativo do Café, which tells the story of the plant's arrival in the country, the cultivation and the process of the bean up to the cup.

From the museum, an ecological trail descends the valley through a coffee plantation with different coffee varieties, a guadua forest and a viewpoint. Those who prefer not to walk can go down by cable car or chairlift to the lower area, where the attractions are: a roller coaster, the Yippe, with cars shaped like Willys jeeps, water rides, a replica of a coffee village and the coffee show, a music and dance performance about the region's traditions.

The park mixes information and fun and is very popular with families. Restaurants and snack bars serve typical food and coffee from the region.

The visit takes a full day. The park is about 50 km from Pereira and 15 km from Armenia.
