About Lago de la República
Lago de la República is in the center of Ciudad del Este, a few blocks from the commercial microcenter, and is the city's main leisure area. Around the water there is a promenade, bike path, lawns and benches.
Next to the lake there is an amphitheater used for shows, parties and city events. In the late afternoon and on weekends, residents walk, run, cycle and drink tereré by the water.
It is a contrast with the commercial bustle near the bridge: a quiet place to see city life outside the shops. The Catedral San Blas is nearby and pairs well with the walk.
For those passing through, it is a short stop late in the afternoon before dining in the area.
