About Pueblito Paisa
Pueblito Paisa sits atop Cerro Nutibara, an isolated hill in the middle of the Valle de Aburrá, about 80 meters above the city. It was built in 1978 as a reproduction of an early 20th-century Antioquian village, with a central square, fountain, church, town hall, school, barber shop and two-story houses with colorful doors and windows and wooden balconies.
The houses house craft and souvenir shops and restaurants serving typical dishes, where you can try bandeja paisa, arepas and mazamorra, a drink made from corn with milk and rapadura. The square usually has music and activity on weekends.
From the viewpoint around the village you can see Medellín from end to end, with the buildings at the bottom of the valley, the neighborhoods climbing the slopes and the surrounding mountains. On the way up is the Parque de las Esculturas, with outdoor works by Latin American artists.
The place is small, and the visit is quick. Late afternoon, as the city lights come on, is the most popular time.
