About Les Abattoirs

Les Abattoirs is Toulouse's museum of modern and contemporary art. It brings together the city's collections and those of the regional contemporary art fund, which is why it bears the full name Les Abattoirs, Musée - Frac Occitanie Toulouse.

The building is the former municipal slaughterhouses, brick-built, preserved and adapted for exhibitions. Shows change throughout the year and mix established 20th-century artists with recent production.

It is located in the Saint-Cyprien district, on the left bank of the Garonne, next to a public garden with views of the river and the historic center on the opposite side.

It's a visit for those who enjoy contemporary art; for visitors with limited time, the museums in the old center are usually the priority.
