Bouillon – Luxemburgo Destination Ardennes
How to get there
-
Libramont Libramont-Chevigny · 31 km
Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.
By car, Bouillon is a little more than two hours from Brussels and about an hour from Arlon. By train, get off at Libramont on the line between Namur and Luxembourg, and take TEC bus line 8, a journey of roughly 40 minutes with departures spaced apart, so check the timetable in advance.
How many days
One day is enough for the castle, the Musée ducal and the Bouillon Medieval Experience. Two days allow you to add the Tombeau du Géant, a valley hike or a kayaking trip on the Semois.
When to go
Falconry flights at the castle usually run from March until November 11, and in August the town holds a medieval festival. From May to September the quays and the river are busy. In winter the castle has reduced opening hours and it gets dark early.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
For the town itself, no: the castle, the museums and the quays are within walking distance. For the Tombeau du Géant and the villages in the Semois valley you need a car, as public transport is limited.
