A narrow-gauge tourist train that departs from Estación del Fin del Mundo and runs along the Río Pipo valley, between forest and peatlands, toward Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego.

About Tren del Fin del Mundo
The Tren del Fin del Mundo runs through part of the territory linked to the old prisoners' railway of Ushuaia. In the early 20th century, the train was used to transport timber and other materials for the prison. The current tourist service departs from Estación del Fin del Mundo, about 8 km west of downtown.
The route follows the Río Pipo valley, among lenga and ñire forests and peatland areas. Estación Macarena is part of the route and provides access to a viewpoint. The trip presents the history of the railway and of local settlement as it crosses this sector of the Fuegian landscape.
The final station sits next to Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego. Those who combine the train with a park visit need to organize the transport legs and the return; the train's arrival does not replace travel to Lapataia. To do only the rail ride, choose the round-trip option and confirm the service before leaving town.

Best time
From November to March there are more daylight hours to combine train and park visits. Between June and September, snow usually changes the appearance of the valley; don't expect a specific landscape.
How to get there
Estación del Fin del Mundo is about 8 km west of Ushuaia's center, on the access via Ruta Nacional 3 to the national park. Use a transfer, tour, taxi or car, and arrange the return as well.
Tip
When combining the train with the park, confirm at which station the trip ends and who provides the following transport. The railway does not extend to Bahía Lapataia.
