About Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego

The Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego protects a landscape where the mountain range meets the coastline of the Canal Beagle. Created in 1960, it is located west of Ushuaia. Forests of lenga and guindo, rivers and coves make up the public-use area, without the visit needing to cover the entire protected extent.

Bahía Lapataia is one of the reference points for the visit. Its paths and boardwalks allow views of the coast and the surrounding mountains. Another visited sector is Lago Acigami, surrounded by forest. Distances between these points matter for those arriving without a vehicle.

Split the day between walking sections and internal transfers. Use only designated trails and choose your level of effort before setting out. Between November and March there is usually more daylight for walking; in the other months the program should account for shorter days. Bring food, water and a waterproof layer.
