Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.
From the provincial capital to San Ignacio it is roughly 60 km. Check bus connections and the final transfer before you leave.
How many days
One or two days allow you to see the Jesuit complex and schedule outings to Casa de Quiroga and Teyú Cuaré. Include the road time to the town and do not count that transfer as available visiting time.
When to go
From April to September the heat is usually less intense for walking through the ruins and the woods. From October to March heat, humidity and rains tend to require more breaks. Bring rain protection and footwear suitable for uneven terrain.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
San Ignacio Miní and the parish can be arranged from the central area. For Casa de Quiroga and Teyú Cuaré, arrange a vehicle or transfer. Do not treat these more distant sites as a short continuation of the urban stroll.

Frequently asked questions
Is San Ignacio close to Puerto Iguazú?
The road link is approximately 240 km. Consider that road stage as separate from the visits based in the two towns.
Which airport is closest to San Ignacio?
Posadas airport is about 65 km away. Puerto Iguazú serves those combining the visit with the waterfalls, but it is further away.
Are the mission and Casa de Quiroga in the same place?
No. San Ignacio Miní is adjacent to the town center; Casa de Quiroga requires a transfer to the area near the Paraná.
Is one day enough for San Ignacio's main sites?
One day allows you to choose the Jesuit complex and one other visit. Two days distribute time better between the house-museum, the park and the road transfers between sites.
