Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.
On the Argentine side, Cataratas del Iguazú airport is about 20 km from the center, with connections via Buenos Aires. Check documents and transport before the trip.
How many days
Two or three days allow dedicating one to the park and another to the Hito Tres Fronteras and La Aripuca. Add buffer time if combining international transfers, because the border crossing should have time set aside from visits.
When to go
Between April and September temperatures are usually more moderate. From October to March heat and humidity are more intense. The water volume of the falls varies according to the rains in the basin; choose the month based on the climate and the time you have, without relying on a specific flow.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
Buses and shuttles serve the park and other points. Staying in the center helps you get around without a vehicle.

Frequently asked questions
Which circuit is better for someone who wants to avoid stairs?
The Circuito Superior has walkways without stairs according to the official description. Confirm access conditions before visiting if you have reduced mobility.
Can I visit the waterfalls and San Ignacio on the same day?
The road distance between the towns requires another stage. Reserve the park day for your routes and make the trip to San Ignacio separately.
Is the Hito Tres Fronteras inside the national park?
No. It is in the town, by the confluence of the rivers, and is visited on a transfer separate from the waterfalls.
