Loreto – Misiones Destination Puerto Iguazú and Misiones

How to get there

  • Aeropuerto Internacional Libertador General José de San Martín (PSS) Posadas

Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

RN12 gives access to Loreto, in southern Misiones. If you take a bus along the corridor, confirm the stop and transport to the center and to the entrance of the site.

How many days

One day is enough to visit the Jesuit-Guaraní complex and to walk through the town center. Allocate most of the daytime to the historic paths and the interpretation center.

When to go

From June to August temperatures are usually lower, which can favor walking. From December to February the heat is usually more intense. Rain can occur in any month in Misiones.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

The center is small and can be explored on foot. A car or transfer makes arrival via RN12 and connections with San Ignacio and Santa Ana easier; within the historic complex, the route follows visitor paths.
