Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

Mendoza airport, MDZ, handles arrivals by plane. Follow RN 40 south and take the local access to Villa San Carlos. For buses, the Terminal de Ómnibus de Eugenio Bustos is on the RN 40 corridor, in another locality of the department; check transport to the village and to the bodega.

How many days

One day covers the reserved visit to Zuccardi Valle de Uco and the travel around the Altamira area. An overnight stay in the department reduces the return to the capital when the trip continues to other towns in the valley.

When to go

From February to April the harvest usually takes place, with activities that vary between properties. From September to November the days are usually milder for rural access. Between June and August nights in the Valle de Uco are usually cold.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

The seat village, Eugenio Bustos and Paraje Altamira are different localities. A transfer or a vehicle with driver serves the visit to the bodega without relying on intercity lines. Tastings require coordinating return transport.

One day in San Carlos

Morning
Departure for Paraje Altamira
Depart from the village or your accommodation with a transfer to the Finca Piedra Infinita of Zuccardi Valle de Uco. The entrance is in the Altamira vineyard area, west of RN 40.
Afternoon
Visit to Zuccardi Valle de Uco
The reserved program leads through the bodega's spaces and presents the estate's origin wines. The stone and concrete architecture is part of the property's visit.
Late afternoon
From the finca to Villa San Carlos
Return to the seat village with the driver. Altamira and the cabecera are not the same urban center; confirm your accommodation's address before departing.
Evening
Overnight in the south of the valley
A meal near the accommodation ends the day without another trip through the estates. The night in the department can precede other stages of the Valle de Uco.

Are San Carlos and La Consulta the same town?

Villa San Carlos is the seat of the department. La Consulta, Eugenio Bustos and Paraje Altamira are other localities or areas within the same territory.

Is the Zuccardi located in the center of Villa San Carlos?

Bodega Zuccardi Valle de Uco is in Paraje Altamira, at Finca Piedra Infinita, west of RN 40. The visit requires a separate transfer from the village tour.

Where do regional buses arrive?

The Terminal de Ómnibus de Eugenio Bustos serves the RN 40 corridor. It is located in another locality of the department; confirm the connection to Villa San Carlos or to your accommodation.

Does the visit to Zuccardi depend on a meal?

The estate offers visits and tastings with separate reservations. Check the type of experience you want; a restaurant reservation may have different conditions than the production visit.

Is it worth sleeping in the department instead of returning to Mendoza?

Overnighting near Altamira or in the village avoids returning to the capital after the visit. The location of your accommodation and the next stage in the Valle de Uco will help with that decision.
