How many days
One or two days: separate the historic walk from the outing to Hornocal. Overnighting helps organize the route without depending on an immediate return to the provincial capital.
When to go
From April to November it usually rains less. Between June and August, the cold nights and altitude require warm clothing. December to March usually has more rain, which may affect access to the viewpoint.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
The center is walked on foot, with a climb of steps to the monument. For Hornocal, arrange a vehicle or transfer and the return; it is not an extension of the urban walk.
