St. Moritz – Grisões
How to get there
-
Aeroporto de Zurique (ZRH) Zurique · 200 km
-
St. Moritz 1 km
Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.
St. Moritz station, on the lakeshore below Dorf, is the terminus of the Albula and Bernina lines. From Chur the train takes about 2 h; from Zurich about 3 h 20 min, with a change in Chur. By car, the road from Chur climbs via the Passo do Julier. The most used airport is Zurich (ZRH), about 200 km away. Confirm before buying.
How many days
One day is enough for Dorf, the leaning tower, the Segantini Museum and a walk around the lake. Two days add Piz Nair or Muottas Muragl. With three days you can take the Bernina Express to Tirano (round trip), or go to Diavolezza with the Morteratsch trail.
When to go
From June to September the summer cable cars and hiking trails operate, with cool nights. From December to March the town lives off skiing, bobsledding and events on the frozen lake, with below-freezing temperatures and short days. April, May and November are quiet and many services are closed.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
No. Dorf, Bad and the lakeside walk are done on foot, and local buses connect the two parts. Trains go to Pontresina, Morteratsch, Diavolezza and Bergün, and buses to Silvaplana, Sils and Maloja.
