About Brambrüesch
The Brambrüesch is Chur's local mountain: a terrace on the slope of the Dreibündenstein, southwest of the town, reached by a cable car that departs from the centre. In about 12 minutes the cabin rises from the town, below 600 meters, to around 1,600 meters, with a cabin change in the middle of the route.
In summer, Brambrüesch is a starting point for hikes. Trails lead across pastures and woods to the summit of the Dreibündenstein, at about 2,150 meters, where the borders of the three leagues that gave rise to the Grisões once met, with views over the Rhine valley and the surrounding mountains. There are also shorter walks, a playground, a mountain lake and a downhill mountain-bike track.
In winter, the area has easy to intermediate ski slopes, with cable cars and chairlifts, just minutes from the town.
Mountain restaurants are located next to the upper station. On some weekends the cable car runs later than usual.

From June to October for walking, on clear days. From December to March for skiing, depending on snow. The cable car has maintenance breaks between seasons; check before you go.
How to get there
The lower station of the cable car is on Kasernenstrasse, in central Chur, about a 10-minute walk from the train station.
Tip
Bring a warm layer even in summer: up there the temperature is much lower than in Chur. For a broader view, walk up to the Dreibündenstein.
