The city

What to expect from Engelberg.

A mountain village at about 1,000 m, in a valley of the canton of Obwalden, born around a Benedictine monastery from 1120, the Kloster Engelberg. It is the base for ascending the Titlis, with its glacier, the Cliff Walk and the ice cave, and for Lake Trübsee and the Brunni area on the other side of the valley. In winter it becomes a ski resort.
