Ecopista do Minho
A path for pedestrians and bicycles of about 15 km between Valença and Monção, following the route of the old rail branch, along the river Minho, among fields, vineyards and old stations.

About Ecopista do Minho
The Ecopista do Minho uses the route of the old rail branch that linked Valença to Monção. At about 15 km, it is flat and paved, suitable for walking and cycling, and runs near the river Minho, among agricultural fields, alvarinho vineyards and woods.
The route starts near Valença station and passes restored old stations and halts, with rest areas. In several spots there are views of the river and the Galician bank on the other side.
Because it is flat, the ecopista is good for those who want a short one-hour outing, or to go to Monção and back. Some companies and hotels in the region rent bicycles; check in advance where to pick them up.
For those arriving by train, CP allows bicycles on some trains on the Minho line, according to the company's rules.
