Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.
Check before booking. Dublin Airport is about 140 km away. The train from Dublin Connolly reaches O'Hanrahan station, at the quay, in about 2h30, and there are buses from Dublin and from Waterford. Rosslare port, 20 km away, receives ferries from France and from Wales.
How many days
Two days: one for the town, the Heritage Park and Johnstown Castle, and another for the Hook peninsula and the ship Dunbrody in New Ross. With only one day, do the town and the Heritage Park.
When to go
From May to September the days are long and the county's beaches get busy. In October and November the Wexford Festival Opera usually takes place, making the town very crowded. In winter attractions have shorter opening hours.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
You don't need a car for the centre. There are taxis and buses to the Heritage Park; for Hook Head, Johnstown Castle and New Ross, a car is helpful. In Ireland you drive on the left.
