About Historial Jeanne d'Arc
The Historial Jeanne d'Arc occupies the former archiepiscopal palace of Rouen, attached to the cathedral. The museum opened in 2015 and is run by the Metrópole Rouen Normandie.
The site has a direct connection to Joan's history: the building preserves traces of the room where her condemnation was pronounced in 1431 and where, in 1456, a second trial declared her innocent. The visit includes the Romanesque and Gothic crypts, a 15th-century tower and the palace's large attic.
The narrative is told through projections, videos and sound effects, as if the visitor were following the investigation of the second trial. At the end, the Mitoteca (Mythothèque) shows how Joan's image has been used in art, politics and popular culture over the centuries.
The route is carried out at fixed times and has versions in several languages; check whether Portuguese or Spanish is available.
