About Boulevard de la Croisette

The Boulevard de la Croisette, or simply the Croisette, runs along Cannes Bay for about 2 km, from the Palais des Festivals to the Pointe de la Croisette in the east. The promenade with palm trees and the blue chairs by the sand are the city's postcard image.

On the city side are historic Belle Époque and art-déco hotels such as the Carlton, with its two domes, the Martinez and the Majestic, alongside luxury shops. On the sea side the beach is sandy, divided between public stretches and private beach clubs with sunbeds and restaurants.

At the end of the promenade, at the Pointe de la Croisette, are the yacht-filled Port Pierre Canto and gardens with views of the Îles de Lérins. During the Festival de Cannes in May, the avenue is taken over by event structures and onlookers.
