About Parc à Gibier de La Roche-en-Ardenne
The Parc à Gibier de La Roche-en-Ardenne has existed for more than 50 years on the Deister plateau above the town. It covers about ten hectares of forest and displays the animals that live in the Ardennes in enclosures that mimic the natural environment of each species.
The trail is just over a kilometer long and passes by deer, fallow deer, wild boar, wolves, lynx, foxes, mouflon and owls. The park has between 150 and 200 animals, depending on the season and births. There is also a trail dedicated to forest birds.
At the end of the path is the mini-farm, with donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, ponies and poultry, where children can get closer to the animals. A tavern with a terrace overlooks the children's playground.
The park is designed to introduce local wildlife to children and pairs well with a walk on the Deister trails.
