About Bouillon Medieval Experience

The Bouillon Medieval Experience is the former Archéoscope Godefroid de Bouillon, which has been renamed. It is located on the Quai des Saulx, on the banks of the Semois and at the foot of the castle, in a cluster of the town's old buildings.

The idea is to take the visitor back to the 11th century. The route goes through seven themed rooms and three large audiovisual projections, following a knight and his squire on their way to the Holy Land. The story revolves around Godofredo de Bulhão, lord of Bouillon and one of the leaders of the First Crusade.

The visit is self-guided and helps to understand the castle, so it works well before climbing the fortress. It is also a good option for rainy days and for families with children.

The site is open much of the year, but days and sessions vary by season.
