About Reserva Provincial Río Valdez
The Reserva Provincial Río Valdez occupies the southeast shore of Lago Khami, near Tolhuin. The area protects forest sectors, peatlands and a portion of the Fuegian ecotone, where forest vegetation begins to interface with more open environments.
The territory includes trails and water points, such as Laguna del Indio. Coastal sectors allow observation of the forest-lake relationship, while other routes go into the reserve’s interior. Proximity to town does not mean every point has the same access.
Plan your time according to the route chosen, bringing waterproof clothing and hiking footwear. From November to March there is usually more daylight to explore natural areas. Before driving out, check the road to the intended sector; before paddling or fishing, verify local conditions and activity rules.
